This Week's Homemade Pizza (and Kitchen Date)

I've been doing a bit of Pizza Experimentation these days, which makes The Man twitchy (though he ALWAYS likes the results in the end!) But this week I decided to give him a break and keep the pizza simple and traditional. Tomato basil sauce, peppers, onions, spinach, garlic and tomato slices, and our favorite Daiya mozzerella-style shreds, on a multigrain crust. Simple, but delicious!

Pizza Night... "Kitchen Date"
Sometimes on Pizza Night we'll watch a movie with the kids, or when the weather is nice, we all have our pizza out on the patio by the fire pit. But often, The Man and I take the opportunity to have what we call a Kitchen Date. We let the kids watch a movie by themselves, and we eat alone together in the kitchen. We really love these 90-120 minutes at-home dates. It's such a great way for us to reconnect with each other as a couple, not just as parents. Last night we had a lovely Kitchen Date. The man poured me a nice glass of Pinot Noir and himself a fancy microbrew beer, we put on some nice music and we enjoyed each other's company along with our delicious pizza.
